It would have been easy to sell our residence if we upgraded the HVAC

But, being a relatively stubborn person, I wanted to see what the outcome was for myself

I have to have respect for how the universe has a way of kicking me in the backside for a bit of a perspective correction every so often. This week, I got one of those swift kicks over a Heating and Air Conditioning machine issue. It’s not as though I am some stereotypical male jerk or anything. Although it honestly can seem that way when someone is attempting to convince me of something that I feel is not true. Every one of us has been trying to get our residence in shape to put on the market. But, we haven’t undoubtedly been all that dire about it either. Having purchased and sold various residences over all these years, we were pretty confident that we knew what we were doing. This residence is close to 25 years old. Every one of us knew there would be some investment to work on the family room and some other things. However, the Heating and Air Conditioning machine I expected would get by. Every one of us replaced the Heating and Air Conditioning machine almost 15 years ago but it was state of the art and we committed to service on it all the time. It ran essentially like a champ. But, as soon as the first realtor came to our residence to list it, the Heating and Air Conditioning machine was one of the first things on the list to go. I genuinely pushed back on that for sure. I thought, worst case scenario, I could negotiate the price if a seller genuinely pushed the Heating and Air Conditioning machine complication. The realtor pushed back and told myself and others that I would for sure lose money on that particular deal. But, being a relatively stubborn person, I wanted to see what the outcome was for myself. Well, the realtor was genuinely correct. There were numerous patrons who easily passed because of the Heating and Air Conditioning machine. And, the only offer we got was contingent on us taking many thousands of dollars off the sale price due to the Heating and Air Conditioning machine.
