Radiant floor in cabin on ski trip

Every December my husband, three kids and I take a ski vacation for a couple of weeks.

We rent the same cabin in the mountains every year.

It’s in the perfect location, offering close proximity to the slopes, and equipped with all of the modern conveniences. My husband and kids look forward to bundling up, strapping on their skis and spending all day on the slopes. They don’t seem to mind the freezing cold air, bitter wind chill or wet snow. I prefer to spend the majority of time in our little cabin. It has everything I need to be happy. I have a coffee maker, television, internet connection and my kindle. The very best part of that cabin is the radiant heated floors. That heating system is pure luxury and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t matter how cold it is outside, I walk barefoot on the heated floors and feel completely warm and comfortable. There are no cold spots, no drafts and no blasts of overly hot air. The equipment is entirely concealed beneath the floor, taking up no space, and the heat is spread evenly across the surface. It operates silently and is a very gentle type of heat. There are no ducts or vents spewing dust and other contaminants into the air. Plus, the system is set up for zone control. There is a separate thermostat in each room to customize the temperature of that particular space. I can make sure the bedroom is especially warm when I get up in the morning. I step out of the shower onto a nice, warm floor.
