The other day when the HVAC system was making some funny noises, I wanted to shut off the power and check everything out. My wife asked what I thought I was doing, and I told her I was just going to see what was wrong with the HVAC system. She firmly told me that I wasn’t qualified to work on the HVAC system. I could get electrocuted and I might void the warranty to the HVAC unit. When I tried to argue that I was just going to shine a light into it, she said it wasn’t up for debate. She made certain that I called the HVAC company to arrange for an appointment with an HVAC technician. She made sure that I didn’t go to mess with the HVAC system at all because she knows how I am when it comes to things like this. My curiosity usually gets the best of me and I always have to check things out. I probably could have been a good HVAC technician because I like working on things, but admittedly, heating and cooling technology is entirely over my head. When the HVAC technician finally arrived, I made sure to observe what he was doing with the HVAC system. He said it was a good thing that I didn’t mess with the HVAC unit because if I messed it up, that indeed would have voided the warranty. It wasn’t exactly a simple fix and it cost us a pretty penny, but we were glad when the HVAC system was working well again.
