Years ago when I was a kid in college I had little to no idea what I wanted to do.
The major that I was studying wasn’t very interesting to me, and I felt as if I was wasting my time. It seems as if each day I was feeling myself becoming more and more helpless. I never had much interest in college even when I was in high school but I wasn’t sure what else I would do once I graduated. Then one day when I was talking to my dad on the phone about the woes I was having he recommended that I get a part time job to take my mind off of school a little bit. He had a buddy that lived in the town my college was located who had his own HVAC company and was able to get me an interview the next day. After only a few days of working with my dads friend at his HVAC ventilation, heating and cooling company I knew without a doubt that this was something I wanted to do for a career. Over the next couple of months I worked myself up from a part time assistant to a full on certified HVAC repair tech. Instead of going to classes at eight in the morning I was going to work, and making a better wage than any other people my age! I was able to get out of college before I was too far over my head in college debt while also being able to find a real passion of mine, and for that I am extremely grateful.
