Meeting my mother in law

My future partner as well as I grew up in weird states so we had to make an effort to get to suppose each other’s families prior to the ceremony! Once we announced our engagement we planned several holiday weekends to visit each other’s homes.

It is about a four-third ride to his parents apartment so we typically left early in the day to get there in time for supper! He grew up where family meal time is actually important so I wanted to make a good impression on our future mother-in-law.

I am not much of a cook myself so I took advantage of spending time in the kitchen with her preparing the meals when I could. The only downfall to that was the fact that they do not have air conditioning in their apartment as well as it was the middle of summer time so it made cooking actually uncomfortable, she had worked that way all of her life so she did not seem to notice as well as I tried to keep a positive attitude throughout the whole ordeal… My fiance would joke with myself and others on the way house each time because he said he could tell by the look on our face I wasn’t entirely ecstatic spending time in the kitchen. I told him he was welcome to join us as well as spend time with his mom as well but he declined as well as said he would rather hang out with his dad in the backyard. I told him that he was fortunate because at least he could take advantage of a breeze outside as well as not be stuck in aoverheatedhumid kitchen. I also told him that if he expected myself and others to make family meals everyday I better have a weather conditions-controlled environment to do it in.
