My real name is Andy, but they call me Handy around here.
This is because I’m basically the handiest man around.
I was fortunate when I was young because I learned about doing all kinds of work from my old man and my uncles. They were always fixing everything you could think of and they got me in on the action. Because of this, I was able to learn all kinds of things from working on cars to doing various types of household repairs. I even learned how to work on HVAC systems early on. Given, I never actually attended a trade school to get my official HVAC certification, but that hasn’t stopped me from helping people out with their broken down HVAC equipment. It all basically comes natural to me, even with the newer HVAC technology they have these days. I’ve installed radiant heated floors with no problem, just had to study up on the installation procedures. If somebody is experiencing issues with their boiler system, I’m on it. I’m always the man to call. They just say to get a hold of “Handy”, and they know my number. Another thing I love doing is looking for old HVAC equipment and parts. I learned early on that HVAC parts are extremely valuable. I actually inherited my father’s old junkyard and it’s a great place to collect these valuable items. I have just about everything you could think of, so it’s not a challenge for me to come by the parts that are needed for various projects, especially for cars.
