Grey, wet, and cold days

I’m really starting to miss the sunshine.

It’s been overcast and cold and occasionally rainy throughout the past couple weeks it seems.

It is winter time and that’s when we typically get this kind of weather, but it’s no less depressing. Especially as I’m sitting in my office throughout the day under the fluorescent lighting and the inadequate heat. I’m quite grateful that I can return to my home after work and crank up my own furnace to keep me warm. I still miss the sunshine though. I swear it gives me energy and life! This weekend, the weather was so dreary once more, so I didn’t feel like doing anything. The furnace felt good as ever but I wanted to do something a little extra. I lit a fire in the fireplace along with some candles. Maybe I could create some warmth and light and cheer within my own home despite the weather. I brewed up my favorite kind of tea and set on the couch to catch up on a favorite book series. The combination of the furnace air along with the warmth of the fire made it absolutely delightful feeling in my living room, despite the fact that it was in the thirties outside with freezing rain. I guess I had managed to create a happy environment after all. I honestly don’t know what I would do without a good furnace unit. Days and weeks such as the ones I just described, would be unbearable for me if I couldn’t even be warm and comfortable as I waited for the sun to return!
