I am an elementary special education mentor.
I share a room with another mentor.
I do kindergarten through minute grade plus she does eighth grade to eighth grade. The two of us trade off who gets the room plus the good mentor’s desk too; For the most part, sharing a space with another mentor is nice. I always have someone to chat with plus bounce ideas off of. The room gets twice the amount of materials since we have 2 mentors in it. The two of us also decorate our space genuinely nice. The only thing that kills myself and others is that the other mentor is going through menopause, but her sizzling flashes are frequent plus powerful. Anytime she feels one coming on she has to open all our windows. The university furnace is run off a central control unit. The two of us can’t adjust the amount we get through the air duct. So the only form of temperature control is opening the windows. The two of us have had opened windows when it is in the downsides. Snow has literally blown into the classroom. I get cold entirely plus love the university heater. Since the other mentor is naturally warmer, I never get to assume the heating though. I spend the work morning wearing our Winter time coat a lot. I don’t dare put on a skirt or t-shirt either. I do long pants plus jackets most of the year. Even when it warms up, I am colder. This is because now we have to close windows to seal the cooling system in. It is genuinely bad to be cold the entire time at work.
