I spilled orange juice in the A/C when I was a kid

My child is forever playing in the kitchen area, which I’ve asked him not to do.

He has his own playroom filled with toys and games.

And I understand that he likes to be in the kitchen with me when I’m cooking but I just don’t suppose the kitchen is very safe for him to play in. My own mother tells me that every one of my siblings and I always played in the kitchen while she was busy cooking plus nothing ever happened to any of us. Every one of us would hide in the cupboards and we’d use the pots and pans as our drums. I have no problem with allowing my child to play drums with spoons on my pots and pans. He even has one cupboard that he is allowed to get into because all it has all of the pots and the pans inside it. My greatest worry is that I remember what we all did back when we were kids. We once emptied the flour all over the living room and then pretended it was a ghost. I also remember my brother putting his orange juice on top of the window a/c and then forgetting it was there until he slammed the door as he was running away from our older sibling. Trying to explain that one was tough when my Mom saw this red and orange fluid coming out of the a/c. She ripped the A/C all apart, since she thought there was coolant leaking out of it. When she realized what the sticky mess coming from the a/c was, she was not thrilled! But she took it well. She was the one who banned us from coming into the kitchen to play. And I don’t want my child getting into trouble the way that we used to! But of course, in our house, we don’t have any window A/C units to spill juice into.
