Band and a/c

I would absolutely miss that a/c device when the hotter days of Spring came through, as the tepid weather often made the A/C device work far too much – and shut down.

I was in band when I was going through high school. I first decided to join just to make friends, and I relied on my skills as a drummer to stay in the group! However, as time went on, I realized that being in band and making friends wasn’t separate from a cost! Every other day, every one of us had band practice. That would take place outside for the most part, and every one of us would practice marching around as every one of us played. At other times, it would be inside the practice room. I couldn’t tell you which was more brutal! See, the heating and a/c device in the practice room was entirely unreliable! Sometimes, the a/c device felt like it was blasting too much freezing air into the practice space. I’m seriously not exaggerating! The people I was with and I could see the condensation forming on the windows looking outside; that’s how frosty the A/C device happened to be. I would absolutely miss that a/c device when the hotter days of Spring came through, as the tepid weather often made the A/C device work far too much – and shut down. I never realized how much I would miss having the A/C device running until a hundred degree day came in. By senior year, I was about ready to leave the band and just focus on my studies, but luckily for me, I was able to try out for a local school and win a scholarship to their school for my excellent skills in band! So, I carried on with the band practice. Happily in university, the practice room was incredibly well equipped and kept entirely cool. They even had air purifiers running, which was excellent for my occasional allergy flare-up.
