This rain is tough to deal with

I just did a huge load of towels in the washer.

The washer was almost done when it began to thunder and lightning. I didn’t know anything about it until I put the towels in the dryer. I turned the dryer on and nothing happened. I took a deep sigh and wondered how this was going to get any worse. What I thought was going to be a brief Springtime shower, turned out to be an all out cloudburst. I wished I hadn’t wondered if it was going to get any worse. I said something to my hubby about drying the towels. He put rope up in our spare kitchen so I could hang the towels up in the kitchen. I was devastated and wondering how they were going to dry. He went over to the thermostat and he turned the temperature up to eighty. I could hear the gas furnace running and I knew that wouldn’t take long for the towels that were closest to the air vent, to dry. That’s when he showed up with a huge fan. All of us now had the heat blowing from the air vents and he had the fan located where it was circulating the heat all through the towels. I was still a bit skeptical as to whether I would absolutely end up with dry towels. An seventh later, I went in to check on the towels and they were completely dry. They weren’t even stiff like they usually were when you brought them in off the line. Leave it to my hubby to find a way to make up for the dryer, with the gas furnace.
