I have nephews who live further north in contrast, and they have gas-lit fireplaces that use gas as a fuel to provide perpetual fire in the fireplace.
I don’t think I would ever want to live in a home that didn’t have a fireplace, simply because of the sentimental value that mine brings to me when I see it at home. I have had more than 2 things happen to me involving or in front of a fireplace, and the biggest of those things was how I fell for my dear sweet husband in front of a fireplace. He always likes to say that it was just his cooking, but I think otherwise! After all, I don’t see how anyone could feel less comfortable or unsafe with the warmth of a fireplace enveloping them at home as they sit with the man of their dreams. I enjoy having the fireplace in a home, Even if you don’t have any need for heating! The fireplace remains a valuable asset. My own son lives in far south, and while he has a fireplace he never uses, he’s glad to have it nonetheless. I have nephews who live further north in contrast, and they have gas-lit fireplaces that use gas as a fuel to provide perpetual fire in the fireplace. I wonder if anyone ever sat in front of the fireplace and did not feel more comfortable than before? I just have a hard time believing that others haven’t fallen for each other the way my husband and I did in front of this fireplace in our home. Plus, I think that while having an electric or gas furnace is good and well, it doesn’t replace the utility and decor that a real fireplace can bring to a home. I should know, because we still have a radiator system that works to provide a ton of heat for our home. However, at the end of the day, we just want to relax by the fire in the fireplace.
