Ever since my wifey found out about all the new flooring options available this week for a radiant heating system system, she has been badgering myself and others constantly to consider the upgrade. However it’s not so easy as just getting a new gas boiler plus gutting the aged radiators… Heated flooring for our whole townhouse means cutting up each plus every floor in every room–that’s both a lot of money plus a lot of mess in our townhouse, which she and I have neither the time or the money for. Yet my wifey keeps telling me I should just tap into our savings plus do it. However that money is our safety net should anything go wrong; given the state of the world right now, I sleep better at night knowing every one of us have our back-up finances. So, I’ve decided on a compromise. I called our local heating and A/C supplier, plus asked how my wife and I could possibly do the townhouse one room at a time. They explained that installing radiant heated floors piece by piece, rather than all at once, would be both doable plus affordable. Since we just had our gas boiler last year, we’re already in nice shape. I decided to begin with the master bathroom first; this will be small enough to do quick. Plus my wifey will love staying cozy when she gets out of the shower plus does her makeup every day. Over the course of a weekend, my wife and I every one of us now have a gorgeous new stone floor that can keep us moderate plus toasty with just a flip of a switch. As a bonus, there’s even more floor space since the radiator is gone!
