I have been loving this word “synching”. It might have eclipsed “selfie” as a most overused word. At least it’s not “synergy” but, it’s rather close. I understand the term synching in a technological sense. Yet of course, our culture has now taken something cool sounding and ran it into the dirt. Now, synching could mean a whole host of things. If someone asks me to synch up for breakfast, I’m gonna have a freak out. My neighbor, who is an absolute blowhard bore, used the synching word the other day. And of course, he’s the type of fool to use the term out of context. My friend next door went on and on about how he was synching his house to his Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit. I looked up at him as though he was drinking Pepsi through his ear. But, it went right by him. He made the choice to basically do whatever he could to help his Heating, Ventilation, and A/C heating and cooling component work more effectively. That is pretty much synching your house to the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C component right there. Overcome with literally no emotion, I listened to him tell myself and others all about it. To start, he went through his tiny domain making sure all of his vents were open. Had to make sure the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was breathing correctly, he told me. Then it was sealing the envelope, as it were. He patched up all the cracks in the siding and the entire perimeter of his attic. After all of that, he delivered the piece de resistance. My neighbor got his Heating, Ventilation, and A/C guy to install a smart thermostat and synch it to his automatic blinds. At the moment, the thermostat controls how much direct sun comes in the house and where. Pretty good actually. But, I nearly fell out when he definitely used the term synch correctly. Perhaps he’s not all that stupid.
