Several times a year, my family packs up the tents and all of our camping gear, and we head out to the mountains. All of us have been doing this as long as I can remember, and year after year it seems to get colder and colder. Who knows, maybe we are getting softer as we get older; but regardless, we just didn’t want to camp in the cold anymore. After years of camping in tents, we decided to shop around for smaller Class C motorhomes. These are basically large camper vans with a family room, kitchenette and a small sleeping area. Most crucially, they have a small self-contained heating and air conditioning component in them that keeps it at a comfortable temperature no matter what the season may be. All of us ended up finding one at our local RV dealership that was recently traded in. It was only three years old, and it also still had a full warranty on it. The warrant also covered the heating and air conditioning system, which was good, because having a heated or air conditioned site to camp in was the main reason we wanted an RV to begin with. Once we obtained it, the RV dealership took a few hours to go over all the features of the components with us so we knew how everything worked, and who to call if we had an issue with anything. The following weekend we took the RV up to the mountain. All of us spent all weekend hiking and also doing the things we normally do, but at night we had a nice moderate site to sleep. We are all looking forward to many more trips in our new home away from home.
